On Saturday September 21st, 2019 the Marion Harding Lady Prexies accumulated 27 points en route to their 4th MOAC Tournament Championship.
As the #1 seed at 1st Singles, Nicole Flock continued her perfect season in league play with two more victories that resulted in a championship at that position. She cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win in the semi-final against Kaylee Ervin of Pleasant. In the championship match, she earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Sophie Thompson of River Valley. Nicole earned 7 points for the Lady Prexies.
Destiny Moaney earned a #1 seed at 2nd Singles. She also won two matches and a championship at her position. In her semi-final match against Galion’s Lydia McCabe, she won 6-0, 6-1. In the final, she again rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win against Shelby’s Sadie Smith. Destiny earned 7 points for the Lady Prexies.
Tyler Simmers was the #1 seed at 3rd Singles and also earned two wins and a championship. In her semi-final match, she defeated Mollie Eith of Shelby 6-2, 6-1. In the final, she cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Ontario’s Faydra Barnhart. Tyler earned 7 points for the Lady Prexies.
At 1st Doubles, Lyndsey McQuown and Sofia Tinnerello were seeded 3rd and finished 3rd at that position. In their first round match, they battled to a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 win over Ontario’s duo of Henige/Corn. In the semi-final match, they lost to eventual champions Baughn/Chandler of Galion 4-6, 7-5, 1-6. In the 3rd place match, they defeated Pleasant’s Blackburn/Beebout 8-3 to earn 4 points for the team.
At 2nd Doubles, Isabelle Frazier and Karli Harris lost their opening round match to Galion’s Court/Parsons 2-6, 4-6. In the 5th place match, they defeated Ontario’s Dar/Smith 8-3 to earn 2 points for the team.
